Forms of Refinement
These works are inspired by the natural ephemera that I gather in my neighborhood. The birds are found dead and then immediately frozen. Over time, I gather the flowers from the trees where the live birds once lived. The birds and the flowers are transient and unstable--the flowers wilting, disintegrating and changing color, the birds thawing. Controlling this process of decay, I used these forms to construct sculptures that depend upon observation and change with the passage of time.
